I wanted to create some cards for my grandma to send to her friends. I have had this Rudolph stamp for a while and never used it. I dont know why it took me so long to use it. I think it turned out so cute. You will see below that I have been a busy girl creating cards. Hope you enjoy :) I will be starting on my New Year project so be sure to check back!

Snowflake

So I found these red snowflakes at Walmart and thought "Wow! that would be great on a card." This is a really easy card to make. I used a little string to tie the snowflake to the cardstock. Then I tied the Happy Holidays sentiment to the snowflake. Turned out pretty cute.

The second card is a blue snowflake card. I like using blue instead of the normal red and green Christmas colors. I also love using clear cards. I am sure you will be seeing more clear cards form me:)

I like the idea of using snowflakes. Most of my Christmas cards in the past were made with Christmas trees. I find it hard to use snowflakes when I live in Florida. This year I am going to break out of my mold and I am going to send snowflake cards.

I have already started to work on cards for next weeks post. Check back next week :)

I am back

Well I am back :) I realized tonight that no matter how busy I get I need to find time for myself. I love making cards and I challenged myself with this blog. I need to keep it up! So at least once a week I will make a post.

I posted before that I loved a paper pack called twitterpated. Here are a few more cards that I have put together using that paper pack.
I like to keep my cards simple. There is just something about clean lines that appeals to me. I think sometime cards can get to busy and it can takes away from the sentiment. I also like to make cards that other people can find inspiration from. I like to think my cards are easy to copy.

I hope that all of you out there get inspired and tap into you creative side and make some cards! If you need some help let me know and we can get together and craft away:)

Here is another take on the same paper pack and the same tree stamp. I think I like these cards because I love the fall. Cant wait to send these cards to my friends and family.

The last two cards are cute and easy. I have started to use circle in several of my cards. It's nice to try something a little different every once and a while. I think I may try to make more cards with circles. You will have to stay tuned to see what I come up with :)

Christmas on my mind

I think you will notice I dont like to make the same card twice. So each year I end up making a bunch of Christmas cards. Here are a few cards I have created in the last week.

The neat thing about this card is when you open the card a green image slides over the red image.

This card is a slider/pop up card. It something a little different.

This card is really cool because when you pull the top tab where the ribbon is the bottom piece slides out. I cant wait to make some birthday cards like this.

The last two Christmas cards are standard card that I think are quick and easy to make.

I hope you enjoy these cards. I know I had fun making them.

Christmas

Christmas cards are always fun to make and send. Every year I try to come up with something new. I also look to do something that can be given as a gift. Here are a few of my creations for this year.

I don't normally create square cards but after this one I may try it more often. The circle in the middle is 3 inches and the little circles are 1 inch. The paper that I used is from the CTMH Mistletoe paper pack. The tree stamp is form the Evergreen set. It's one of my favorites! The Merry & bright is from the Christmas Melodies stamp set. The three little sparkles add just the right finishing touch.

This deck the halls card is made from the same paper pack and stamp set. I really like the scalloped edges. It's a really simple way of adding dimension to a card.

The last project in this set is a little gift bag. It will be great for holding holiday candies. Again I used the same paper pack and stamp set. I think it's neat to be able to show different looks with the same supplies. I am sure that these gift bags will be a hit with my friends and family.

USA

My sister is a Navy wife and I couldn’t be more proud of her and her husband. Earlier this year they moved to Japan. I was planning on sending her a package to brighten her day. During a Close To My Heart craft day I was introduced to a fabulous new product, clear cards. I knew right away what I was going to make for my sister.

My sister has always been an encouragement to everyone around her and I thought it would be neat to create a few patriotic cards for her to share with her Navy wife friends.

I sent four of each card to my sister and she and her friends wrote notes to their husband on the ship. I can only imagine how tough it would be to spend so much time separated from my loved ones. I know that for our military getting a letters from home is so important. It makes my heart smile knowing that I was able to be a part of the encouragement that they received. By far these cards are will go down as some of my favorites.

The trick to the clear cards is the image on the outside of the card hides the sentiment on the inside. On this card the red and navy blue card stock, the flag and the three crystals are on the top of the card. The ribbon and the sentiment are on the inside. For the second card the flag is on the top and everything else is on the inside. In this case the flag is covering the writing space.

The flag stamp is from a set called Vintage USA and the you are my hero is from the Just Like You stamp set. The clear cards come in a pack of eight. These cards were made with all Close to My Heart products.

Twitterpated

I love this paper! Its called Twitterpated by Close to My Heart. This company makes it really easy to be creative by putting different color combinations together in a neat little package. With such a cute name no wonder it was easy to create cute cards. The first card was really easy I just layered three different papers from the Twitterpated paper pack. The tree stamp set that I used is by Close to My Heart as well. Its called Treetops. The little thanks stamp is from Greatful Hearts and was tied to the card with waxy flax. I think that this will make a great think you card or could even be used for thanksgiving.

The second card is also form the Twitterpated paper pack. I decided to make a birthday card as my family has a lot of fall birthdays. The stamp sets I used were Say it in Style and Connections. Down the left side of the card I used a rub-on from the Love Story set. To finish off the card  I used a chocolate brad and ribbon.

I plan on making several more cards with this paper pack so stay tuned for more.

Hello!

I have always been a crafty person. I love making cards and gifts for my family and friends and decided to start a craft blog. This is something that is outside of my comfort zone. But I think it will be a fun challenge. So I hope that you all enjoy my creations and become inspired to explore you crafty side.
